What to Accomplish:

Review potential need for additional technology services for individuals to maintain employment, in particular identifying those individuals who could be at risk of losing their job due to technology-related issues.
 

Post-employment assistance can be essential for many technology users to maintain employment. Needs should be anticipated at the time of closure if at all possible. Georgia VR however cannot be responsible to continue supporting consumer technology needs on an ongoing basis. This should be made clear to consumers when their case is closed. 

It can be reassuring for the consumer and the employer however to know that some follow-up AWT services can be available, should these be needed. This can be an effective strategy for enhancing additional job placements with an employer. 

It should be determined however if the follow-up support is within the responsibility of what VR should be expected to provide. In many situations this will be the responsibility of the individual, or possibly their employer under reasonable accommodations as part of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
