| Remember that technology needs may change . .
.
As a person becomes more independent and active, equipment and assistive technology that was appropriate during earlier stages may no longer be
adequate.
Changes in environments will be important to monitor. An individual's living arrangement may change several times during planned services and each situation may present a different problem. Training sites also may have needs that are constantly shifting because of the nature of the
training.
The counselor should encourage the individual to monitor changing needs and to contact DRS when needed. Periodic reviews will help to identify needs, but the responsibility to communicate problems or new concerns rests in large part with the consumer.
