Abilities Expo 2010
Tools for Life will be at booth #528 at the Abilities Expo in Atlanta on October 15 to 17, 2010 at the Cobb Galleria. This event will feature many exhibitors showcasing technologies, products and services as well as educational sessions. For more information visit www.abilitiesexpo.com/atlanta.

Building Bridges: Creating Inclusive Communities
On July 29, 2010 TFL conducted Building Bridges in Columbus. This interactive session covered basic disability-related content and focus on building skills. Topics included: Disability Awareness, Guiding Principles, Inclusion, Value-Laden Language, Understanding the Relationship between Words, Attitudes and Actions and... Common Tips for Etiquette. Attendees came prepared with comments and questions, a portion of Activities included an Ask-it Basket Q&A time. We had a Community Discussion and some topics that were covered were AT Reuse, Transportation, Employment for People with Disabilities, Emergency Management, Independent Living and Support Networks. This event is co-sponsored by Tools for Life, CATOC, Disability Connections, Georgia Department of Labor/VR, and the Columbus Mayor’s Committee for Persons with Disabilities.

ODAC Groundbreaking Ceremony

Tommy Nobis "Galaxy of Stars"

ZAM Communicators Sticker Event 2009
Tools for Life received over 500 ZAM Communicators and collaborated with the Area Agencies on Aging, the Georgia Department of Education, universities, speech language pathologists, hospitals, and rehabilitation centers to get the Zams in the hands of those that could use them. Each ZAM has a "Courtesy of Tools for Life" sticker with our website and phone number to be easily contacted. The TFL team, GPAT and other volunteers gathered at the FODAC warehouse to adorn each communicator with a sticker.
